Setting up Your Big E-Z Accounting For Google Sheets for the First Time

Listed below are instructions on how to do the initial setup of your Big E-Z Accounting for Google Sheets. It is important to follow these steps in order. If you’ve already completed a Step 1, please skip to Step 2.

 

Prerequisites

You need the Google Chrome web browser and a Gmail account. Other web browsers may work, but you may not be able to use all of the features in this product unless you are using Google Chrome.

 

Getting Started – A Two-Step Process

Listed below are instructions on how to do the initial setup of your Big E-Z Accounting for Google Sheets. It is important to follow these steps in order. If you’ve already completed a Step 1, please skip to Step 2.

Step 2: Set Up Your Business Records

Step 1: Install the Spreadsheet Template

You need to install the default Big E-Z spreadsheet template to start using the Big E-Z software.

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the Gmail account associated with the email address you provided. If you are in more than one Gmail account, you need to sign out of any other Gmail accounts that may be open in your browser. To do this, open a Google webpage in your browser (such as the Google homepage), click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner, and select “Sign out of all accounts”. Now that you are signed out, you can sign back into the Gmail account associated with the email address you provided when purchasing Big E-Z Accounting for Google Sheets.
  2. Go to Google Sheets and start a new spreadsheet by on the “Blank spreadsheet” and a new, untitled spreadsheet will open.
  3. In the new spreadsheet, click the “Extensions” tab. Find Big E-Z Accounting, and select “Open First Big E-Z Spreadsheet”. You may need to wait a few seconds for the Big E-Z Accounting menu item to appear. Note: You may install up to two copies of the system per entity (current/next year).
  4. In the pop-up window, enter all the required information and pick the correct list of categories for your industry. You may want to discuss these list options with your accountant or tax professional to be sure you get the most deductions possible for your business. When you’re ready, click Submit.
  5. After a minute or two, you should see a new pop-up window with a link. Click this link to open your populated Big E-Z Accounting Spreadsheet template.
  6. Optional: For easy access, bookmark your Big E-Z Accounting Spreadsheet in your browser or create a shortcut to it on your desktop.
  7. When you’re finished with these steps, please return to this page and complete Step 2 of Getting Started.

Step 2: Set Up Your Business Records

Your Big E-Z Spreadsheet should now be installed and open. You should have your name and basic information entered on the spreadsheet. The next step is to set up your spreadsheet with all of your relevant business records. You can take advantage of our free custom setup, or do it yourself.
 

We Set Up Your Records

A certified Big E-Z bookkeeper will populate your spreadsheet for you in three days, or our product is free to use for one year. To take advantage of this offer, you must have signed up for the 14-day trial or have purchased a license already.
 

  1. Submit the Setup Request Form: Complete the Setup Request Form and send us the requested data so we can schedule a time to review your records.
  1. Share your spreadsheet: List us as a shared contributor on your spreadsheet, giving Editor permissions to mc@bigez.com. If you need assistance with sharing, we can help during our review call. After the setup process is complete, you can un-share your spreadsheet.
  2. Review call: We’ll call you at the time you requested to review the data you sent us.
  3. Get confirmation: You’ll receive an email confirming that we received all the records necessary for setup. The three-day clock starts at this point.
  4. Schedule tour: Once we’ve set up your records, we’ll send you a scheduling link for a virtual tour. Please try to schedule your tour/training session within the next couple of days.
  5. Tour/Training session: Plan to spend 30 minutes in a screen share session to learn about your new accounting system. We can make adjustments to your categories and answer any questions you may have during this time.

Optionally, you can go through the setup process yourself.
 

  1. Open your Big E-Z spreadsheet template and click Extensions > Big E-Z Accounting > Initial Setup / Support.
  2. Follow the setup instructions there.
  3. If you find that you’d like help and have someone walk you through the set up process, you can schedule a free 30-minute tour/training session. We’ll answer your questions, give you a tour, and teach you how to use the program.

Payment, Billing, and Cancelation

Free 14-day Free Trial Users

You may cancel your subscription within the 14-day free trial period using the link provided in your order email. After your free trial has ended, you will be billed $249, and it will renew each year. Cancel within 14 days and your credit card will not be charged.

Paid Subscription Users

We hope you love using Big E-Z Accounting, but if you’re not completely satisfied, you may cancel your subscription at any time. Your Big E-Z Accounting sheet will remain on Google Drive with all the data you entered, but it will have reduced functionality and won’t display the in-app menus.

Our order and payment emails include a manage subscription link that lets you log into your account and edit payment details or cancel the subscription.
